Gum Grafting

If you are suffering with unsightly gum recession it is possible to perform a root coverage procedure with some gum grafting. Connective tissue is harvested from a site in the roof of your mouth and tranferred to where you have the recession. After a period of healing and maturation the new gum formed looks like it was always there. The before and after photo shown here shows a stable result following gum grafting 3 years after surgery. Gum grafts can also be utilised during implant surgery to improve the soft tissue architecture around an implant for either aesthetic or functional reasons. Dr Mallorie is well veresed at the use of gum grafting to regenerate previously lost gum.
